Pelvic Health Physiotherapist:
Louise Hug

Picture
Louise Hug is an APA Titled Pelvic Health and Continence Physiotherapist with over a decade of experience in physiotherapy. She holds a Master's in Continence and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, developing a highly advanced skill set in the assessment and management of pelvic health conditions.
Her passion of pelvic health began in 2017 following the birth of her daughter, leading her to pursue extensive postgraduate training. She has completed certifications in Pilates instruction (Cert IV), real-time ultrasound, women's and men's urinary incontinence, ano-rectal dysfunction, and perinatal care, shaping her expertise in this field. The arrival of her second child in 2020 further reinforced her dedication to supporting individuals through all stages of pelvic health.
Louise spent three years working within a leading pelvic health physiotherapy clinic, where she refined her approach to managing complex pelvic health and pain presentations. Committed to continuous professional development, she actively engages in advanced education, professional courses, and multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure hollistic, evidence-based care.
She has a strong interest in supporting both male and female patients with bladder, bowel, and sexual health concerns. While the male and female pelvis share strucural similarities, she has developed a particular passion for post-operative rehabilitation following Radical Prostatectomy, helping men regain continence and pelvic floor function. Her approach includes pre-operative education and training, which research has shown to significantly improve recovery outcomes and long-term health.
For two years, Louise worked alongside a Urological Surgeon and team, where she gained invaluable experience in urology mentorship, research, and the management of a wide range of urological conditions. This period of specific training remains one of the most rewarding aspects of her career.
Louise is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualised, and evidence-based care, empowering her patients to achieve optimal pelvic health and well-being.
